Book Sales 2024
Spring – April 12th to 14th
Fall – November 15th to 19th
Saturdays 0830 to 1600hrs, Sunday 0900 to 1400hrs. Fridays by appointment

For our major fundraiser we rely on the generous donation of clean, good quality, gently used, near pristine books, CDs and DVDs. Below are specifics as to the type and condition required for the donations and the details of the location & opening times of the Book Depot.
Our book sales are successful because we offer only good quality, CLEAN, gently-used, near pristine books. Please help us by donating only what will sell.
– mystery, fiction, history, local history, biographies, cook books, science fiction, etc., plus CDs & DVDs.
Because our customers do not buy them, we do not accept the following: encyclopedias, books sets, ex-public library items, Readers Digest books, text books, VCR tapes, LPs or magazines. Smelly, dusty and mouldy books are also unacceptable as they are a health risk to handlers. The following categories sell very poorly: computer/business, self-help, sociology, psychology, life-style and travel we only accept them if that are less than 5 years old.
Children’s books should be in mint condition unless they are vintage i.e. >40 yrs old.
NOTE: Discarded books have to be sorted – the hard cover removed (these go in the garbage) and the paper is sent for recycling. Besides the wasted time and effort currently, we pay around $1,500 per year to have the recycling taken away.

We collect and sort books throughout the year however, we would appreciate being notified if you plan to bring a very large donation (30 or more boxes) in case we need rearrange our space to accommodate them or we may offer to check them over to see if they are suitable before you bring them.
Please do NOT bring donations to the sale – we do not have time to sort & price them.
Book Depot – Location:
Our Book Depot in the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, 6199, Chebucto Road. Use the basement door located near the cross walk on Chebucto Road across from Chebucto Lane. A large yellow sign will be posted outside the building door when there is someone present to receive the books. In case of closure due to weather a notice will be posted on our Facebook page and the first page of the website.

All year long on the First Saturday of each month 9.30 to noon ( May 4th, June 1st, July 6th, Aug 3rd, Sept 7th, Oct 5th, Nov 2nd, Dec 7th).
If these times are not convenient, please contact us to make other arrangements.
We are unable to offer a pick-up service.
